106. WINCOLMLEE. Primitive Methodist chapel on former Church Street. Built 1842 replacing chapel opened initially by Primitives in 1819 in the 'Old Penitentiary'. Subsequently two houses nearby were used before the Wincolmlee chapel was built near York Street. Extended in 1846 to include Sunday school rooms. Closed in 1872 the building subsequently became a warehouse. Used as first Salvation Army barracks c.1879-80. At present (Oct. 1991) it is a warehouse owned by House of Townend. Facade unaltered.
