122. WITHAM. Kingston Wesleyan chapel. Built 1841 at cost of £8,000. Designed by James Simpson in Greek Revival style. Built in brick it had a stone facade with pediment supported on four massive Ionic pillars. The pulpit adjoined the front wall. Seating for 1,750 (1881). Damaged by bombing in 1941 and later demolished. Site now a petrol station and car showroom. [The Lost Churches and Chapels of Hull]
