St. Andrew's Church, Hull

St. Andrew's Church, Hull
129. HOLDERNESS ROAD. St. Andrew's Anglican church. Consecrated in 1878, this church became the parish church of Drypool in that year, replacing the Church of St. Peter. The church, designed by Adams and Kelly, ceased to be the parish church in 1961 when that title passed to the newly rebuilt Church of St. Columba further down Holderness Road. Built of red brick with stone dressings in Geometrical style. The church continued as a chapel-of-ease until closed prior to demolition in 1983-4. The site on the corner of Abbey Street is now occupied by housing. [The Lost Churches and Chapels of Hull]
