36. JARRATT STREET (Kingston Square). Clowes Primitive Methodist chapel built 1851. Designed by William Sissons in Greek revival style, built of red and grey brick with stone dressings. Pilastered facade with large triangular pediment. Internally the side pews faced one another across auditorium. Fine Greek style mouldings including the plaster ceiling roses. Seating for 1,400. It cost £7,410. Closed 1932 and used as a warehouse. Demolished February 1965. Site now occupied by the former Hull Brewery building known as Kingston Gardens.
