43. OSBORNE STREET. Bethesda chapel. Built 1842 as an Independent chapel in a crude Decorated style similar to the Mariners' Church. Seating for 500. Taken over by Danish Lutherans in 1850. Rebuilt as St. Nicolai's Danish Lutheran church in 1871. Designed by William Botterill. Destroyed by bombing in 1941. Hanover Court later built on site. New church built on other side of street.
