| 49. ST. LUKE STREET. St. Luke's Anglican church. The church was built as a chapel-of-ease to Holy Trinity and consecrated in 1862, gaining its own district in 1864. The church replaced a temporary church, first in a disused chapel in Nile Street and then in Porter Street. The architect was Robert Blessley of London. Red brick with black bands and stone dressings in Early Decorated style. A tower by R.G. Smith and F.S. Brodrick was added in 1878.
