St. Nicholas's Church, Hull

St. Nicholas's Church, Hull
72. HESSLE HIGH ROAD. St. Nicholas's Anglican church. This church was consecrated in 1915 to serve a district assigned in that year from the parish of Hessle. The church, designed by Hull architect John Bilson, was given by Christopher Pickering as a memorial to King Edward VII. Red brick with stone dressings in Perpendicular style. Sadly the demolition of this church was ordered in late 1967, the foundations having become unsound. It has been replaced by the present church of St. Nicholas.
