St. Thomas's Church, Hull

St. Thomas's Church, Hull
81. CAMPBELL STREET. St. Thomas's Anglican church. A temporary church was opened in 1873, the permanent church being consecrated in 1882, when the church gained its own district from Holy Trinity. The building was designed by Edward Simpson of Bradford. Red stock brick with stone dressings in Early English style. The church was damaged in a Zeppelin raid in the First World War and more severely by bombing in the Second World War. The church was subsequently demolished. The site is now lost under council housing. [The Lost Churches and Chapels of Hull]
