87. SPRING BANK. Jubilee Primitive Methodist chapel. Foundation stone laid February 1863, opened April 1864. Designed by Joseph Wright in the Italianate style. Of red and white brick with stone dressings. Cost £6,100 and had seating for 1,030. Renovated 1952. Demolished 1958 and replaced by new building in 1959 designed by B.W. Blanchard. This became the present St. Stephen's Anglican Church consecrated December 1972. Former Methodist schoolroom survives as church hall. [The Lost Churches and Chapels of Hull]
