Township of Bolton upon Dearne
aforesaid.
AND WE do further order and
award that two Bridges be made and kept in repair, by the said
Inhabitants of the said Township of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid,
in the said Road, and that the said Bridges be made twelve feet
Broad, and four feet wide in the span of the Arch.
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made, from the said Rotherham road
down Bolton low Common, thirty feet broad, and that the same be
called longlane.
AND that a Bridge be made
at the Cross Dykes in the said lane, twelve feet broad, and three
feet wide in the Span of the Arch, and that the several owners
of Allotments on each side the said longlane, do make and maintain
a Ditch against each of their respective allotments, four feet
wide at the Top, and two feet at the Bottom, and three Feet deep.
AND we do further order and
award that the several Owners of the several and respective allotments,
adjoining on each side the said long Lane, shall make, and for
ever maintain, an Arch of Brick or Stone into each of their respective
allotments, and that the said several arches shall be three feet
wide in the Span, and that the said road be repaired, and kept
in repair, at the Expence of the several owners of Allotments
upon the said Common, in proportion to their several and respective
allotments there.
AND we do order and award
that William Tyas shall permit a footway for passengers from the
said William Fenton's House down the East of his allotment, to
the said Byewater .
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made from the North End of William
Tyas's Hogley Croft, to Fleet Bridge, and from thence to the lane
End leading to Arlington, Forty feet broad, and be called Doncaster
road.
AND that a Bridge be made
near the place were the Old Fleet Bridge now stands, twelve feet
broad, and four feet wide in the span of the Arch, and that the
said road and Bridge be afterwards repaired, and kept in repair,
by the Inhabitants of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid.
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made from the said Doncaster road,
to Crainwell Bridge, thirty feet broad.
AND that a new Bridge be
built at or near the place were the said Crainwell Bridge now
stands, twelve feet broad, and four feet wide in the span of the
Arch, and that the said road and Bridge be afterwards repaired,
and kept in repair, by the several owners of Allotments in the
said low Field, in proportion to their several and respective
allotments there.
AND we do order and award
that the said William Marsden shall make, and forever maintain,
a Foot Bridge and Style out of Doncaster road, into his Allotment
in Crainwell on the North side thereof, and another Bridge across
Syke Dyke, and permitt a foot way for Passengers down his said
Allotment in Fleet Furlong and Crainwell, towards Barmborough.
AND we do order and award
the Syke Dyke be enlarged to Eight Feet wide at the Top, and three---

Feet wide at the Bottom.
AND we do order and award
that the said Drain called Syke Dyke shall afterwards be repaired,
and kept in repair, by the several persons whose allotments adjoin
the same.
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made, from Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid,
to Vivers lane, forty feet broad, and from thence continued to
Goldthorpe Green, Sixty feet Broad and that the same be called
Goldthorpe road.
AND that the same be repaired,
and kept in repair, by the Inhabitants of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid.
AND we do further order and
award that the said William Marsden shall make and for ever maintain
a Stile into his Allotment into Darr Furlong, at the South East
Corner thereof.
AND that the said William
Watson shall make and for ever maintain another Style into his
said Allotment in the said Darr Furlong, and another Style at
the South West Corner of the said Allotment in Darr Furlong, into
Greengate lane.
AND we so order and award
that the said William Marsden and William Watson shall permit
a foot way for passengers across the South End of their said several
allotments four feet broad.
AND we do order and award
that the lane called Green gate lane, and from thence to the Top
of Summerlane, for ever hereafter shall be the Highroad from Bolton
upon Dearne aforesaid, to Barnsley (road) and Thurnscoe, and shall
for ever hereafter be repaired by the Inhabitants of Bolton upon
Dearne aforesaid.
AND we do order and award
that another road shall be made from the said Greengate lane over
the South End of the said Mary Bingley's Greengate lane Close.
AND also, the said Henry
Bingley's Greengate lane Close, to the South East Corner of Godfrey
Bingley's Carr Close, and from thence to the Entrance of the said
Elizabeth Garland's allotment, into the said field called near
Carr Field, forty feet broad and that the same be called Carr
Field lane.
AND we do order and award
that the same shall be repaired, and kept in repair, by the said
several persons whose allotments shall adjoin the same.
AND we do order and award
that a Bridge be made, about twelve yards East from the North
Corner of Mrs. Garland's said allotment in the said Road, twelve
feet broad, and Four Feet wide in the span of the Arch.
AND we do order and award
that the several owners of the several Allotments on the South
side of the said Carr Field lane, shall make and for ever maintain,
a Drain against their respective allotments Four Feet wide at
the Top, and two Feet wide at the Bottom.
AND we do order and award
that a Drain shall be made, Betwixt the allotments of the said
William Marsden and Mary Bingley on the North side of the said
Carr Field lane, four Feet wide at the Top, and two Feet in the
Bottom, and that the said drain for the first time shall be made
at the Costs and Charges of the several persons to whom the said
Carr field is hereby allotted, and afterwards repaired---

AND maintained by the said
William Marsden.
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made from Stump Cross Gate, to a place
near the Quarry lands, and from thence continued on the South
side the long hedge, to the South East Corner of the said Henry
Bingley's Carrhead Close, forty Feet broad and from thence continued
to the Corner of the said William Marsden's Carr head Close, thirty
Feet broad, and from thence to the farthest Close at the Carr
head belonging to the said Mary Bingley, twenty one Feet broad.
AND we do further order and
award that the same shall be repaired and kept in repair by the
several persons whose land and allotments shall adjoin the same.
AND we do further order and
award that another road shall be made from the South West Corner
of the said William Marsden's Bartrom Croft, to the Corner of
Godfrey Bingley's Ings Close, and from thence continued to the
South East Corner of the said Henry Bingley's Olliver Flatt, forty
Feet broad, and that the same be called Ing Field Lane.
AND that a Bridge be made
at the North East Corner of the said William Sheppard's Allotment
in the said lane, twelve Feet broad, and two Feet in the span
of the Arch, and that the said lane be continued to Bridlegate
in the road to Wombwell, thirty Feet broad, and that the same
be called Bridlegate lane.
AND that the last mentioned
lanes and Bridges be repaired and kept in repair by the Inhabitants
of the said Township of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid.
AND we do further order and
award that a drain be cut in the Ings, from the Carr head, in
a Straight line to a Stake marked (A), and from thence in another
straight line to a Stake marked (B), into the River Dearne, Eight
Feet at the Top, and Four Feet Wide at the Bottom.
AND we do further order and
award that the several owners of the several and respective Allotments
adjoining on each side the Ing Field lane, from the North End
of the Upper Mill lane, to the North East Corner of Godfrey Bingley's
Ings Close, shall make and for ever maintain a Ditch four feet
wide at the Top, and two feet in the Bottom, and also make an
Arch of Brick and Stone into each of their respective Allotments,
two Feet wide in the span of the Arch.
AND we do further order and
award that a Bridge be made over the said Drain into the said
lane called Bridlegate lane, twelve Feet Broad, and five Feet
wide in the span of the Arch.
AND we do further order and
award that another road be made from the said Ing Field lane,
to the said River Dearne, thirty feet broad, and the same be called
Meadow lane.
AND we do order and award
that another Bridge shall be made over the said Drain the said
Meadow Lane twelve Feet Broad, and five Feet wide in the Span
of the Arch.
AND we do order and award
that the same shall be repaired, and kept in repair, by the several
owners and proprietors of land in the said Ings, in proportion
to their several allotments there.
AND we do order and---

AWARD that a Drain shall
be made Betwixt William Tyas's and William Sheppard's allotments,
on the South side the said Ing Field lane, four feet wide at the
Top, and two feet wide at the Bottom.
AND that the said Drain,
for the first Time, shall be made at the Costs and Charges of
the several persons to whom the said Ing Field is hereby respectively
allotted, and afterwards repaired by the said William Sheppard
and his Heirs.
AND we do further order and
award that another road shall be made, from the said Ing Field
lane, to the Upper Mill, thirty Feet broad, and that the same
be called Upper Mill lane.
AND that a bridge be made
in the said lane, at about one hundred and twenty Yards from the
North End thereof, twelve Feet broad, and two Feet in the span
of the Arch, and that the said lane and Bridge be repaired, and
kept in repair, by the Inhabitants of the said Township of Bolton
upon Dearne aforesaid.
AND we do further order and
award that there shall be a Foot road, from Stump Cross Gate,
across the several Allotments of the said John Tyas, Thomas Pyegate
and Mary Tyas, in the Carr Field, and so across the Carr Field
lane, into and over the said allotments of the said Mary Bingley
and William Marsden in the same Carr Field, and also over the
said William Marsden's allotment in the Carr, in a direct line
to the present Style and foot road into certain ancient Inclosures
called Hall Brooms, and that the said John Tyas shall make and
for ever maintain a Style into his said Allotment at the Stumpcross
Gate, and that the several other persons over or across whose
respective allotments the above mentioned Foot road doth lye,
shall make, and for ever maintain, one or more good and sufficient
Style or Styles in the said Foot road, over or in their respective
Fences, which they are herein before directed to keep and maintain,
to their several Allotments aforesaid.
AND we do further order and
award that there shall be a Foot road, from the Vivers land at
the South West Corner of the said William Marsden's Allotment
in Vivers, and Mean Close in the said low Field, and so across
the same to the present Style into the ancient Inclosures in Goldthorpe
liberty, leading towards Hickleton.
AND we do order and award
that there shall be a Foot road out of the long Lane, into the
said Henry Bingley's allotment on the Common, at the North West
Corner thereof, and so across the said Allotment in a straight
Line to the present Foot Bridge leading to Adwicke Mill.
AND that the said Henry Bingley
shall make, and for ever maintain, a Style and Footbridge out
of the said longlane, into his said Allotment on the Common, at
the aforesaid Corner thereof, and also a Foot Bridge over the
present small Runnel of water, in his said Allotment.
AND we do further order and
award that the said William Watson shall have the Use of a carriage
road, out of the said Upper Mill Lane, across the South End of
the said Sarah Bingley's allotment, on the South side of the same---

Ing Field lane, to his ancient
Inclosure called the Mill Close.
AND that the said William
Marsden shall have the Use of the same road to his ancient Inclosure
called the France.
AND that there be also a
Foot road across the End of the said allotment, from the said
Upper Mill towards Bolton, and proper Styles erected by the said
Sarah Bingley, in the Fence belonging the same.
AND WE DO HEREBY FURTHER
AWARD adjudge and determine that the said several person or persons
to whom any part or parts of the said Common, Fields, meadows,
Common-Pastures and Waste Grounds, is or are, hereby allotted,
shall make, and for ever maintain, the said Hedges, Ditches, Styles
and Fences charged upon such Allotments respectively.
AND that the lands and Grounds
by us hereby allotted, awarded, assigned and Exchanged to the
several proprietors respectively, shall from henceforth, be, remain
and Enure(?) to, and hold and enjoyed, by the said several persons
to whom the same are hereby respectively allotted, awarded, assigned
and Exchanged, and they, and every of them, shall from henceforth
stand and be seized thereof, TO, and for such and the same Uses,
and to, and for such and the same Estates and Interests, and subject
to such and the same Wills, Leases, powers, provisoes, Limitations,
remainders, Trusts, Charges, Tenures, rents, Services, Incumbrances,
and demands as he, she or they respectively, should, and would
have stood Seized off, and in his, her or their lands, Interest
or property of, and in the said Fields, Meadows, Commons, common
pastures and waste Grounds, in lieu whereof, such allotments are
hereby made, in persuance of the said Act, were at the Time of
making such allotments, held and enjoyed, or were subject, or
liable, or charged with, respectively.
AND that the said lands and
Grounds hereby allotted, awarded, assigned and exchanged as aforesaid,
to the said several persons respectively, shall be in Barr and
full Satisfaction and Compensation for their several and respective
pieces and parcels of Ground, which heretofore, were lying dispersedly
in the said Common Fields and Common Grounds, within the said
Parish or Township of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid, and in full
Barr of, and Sattisfaction for their several and respective rights
of Common and other Rights and properties whatsoever in, over
and Upon the said Arable Fields, Commons, Common Pastures and
Waste Grounds respectively.
AND that from, and immediately
after the Execution hereof, the the Right of the said William
Marsden, in and to the Soil of the said Common called Bolton Common,
Holme and Carr Commons, Balks in the Fields, and such part or
parts of the Highways in the said Township as shall be taken into
the said Inclosures, by virtue---

of this Award, and all the
Rights of Common belonging to, and claimed by all and every the
said owners, proprietors and Occupiers of Messuages, Cottages,
Frontsteads, Lands, Tenements or other Hereditaments, within or
belonging to the said Township of Bolton upon Dearne aforesaid,
in, over and upon the said arable Fields, Commons, Common-pastures
and commonable places, and every part thereof shall cease, determine
and be for ever Extinguished.
AND we do order and award
that within the space of Eighteen Callender Months next after
the execution hereof, the said several parcels of Land hereby
allotted, awarded and assigned shall be inclosed, hedged, ditched
or fenced and such Enclosures Hedges, Ditches and Fences at all
Times thereafter, shall be repaired and maintained in such Manner
as is herein before directed.
AND we do further order and
award that convenient Openings shall be left in the said Fences
and Inclosures, for the Space of twelve Calender Months next ensueing
the date hereof, for the Passage of Cattle carts and Carriages
through the same, unless the several parties interested therein
shall agree that the same shall be sooner made up and inclosed.
IN WITNESS, we hereof, we
the said Commissioners, have hereunto set our Hands and seals,
this Twenty Fifth day of February, in the First Year of the Reign
of our Sovereign Lord George the third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith,
and so forth, and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred
and Sixty one, G. Wentworth, J. Battie, Wm. Simpson, Edwd Forster,
Jas. Wright, - sealed and Delivered by the within named Godfrey
Wentworth, John Battie, William Simpson, Edward Forster and James
Wright, the several Raisures and Interlineations being first made
in the presence of us,
