The Will of Henry Moore, of Burley, par. Leeds [Vol. 19, f. 187], dated 31 May 1571, pr. 14 July 1571.
To Jennett, my wife, the third part of my goods. The child wherewith my wife is conceyved, be it
a son or a dau., to have another third, after debts, &c. My child, when born, to have all my right,
&c., in my farmhold in Burley, which my father, William Moore, late deceased, bequeathed to me [See his
will]. My uncle, John M., of the city of York, to have the custody of the child and farm till he be
of lawfull age. If my uncle die before he be of that age, Richard Simson, of Leeds, my brother; Richard
Hutton, of York; and my brother Francis M., to have such custody &c. Remainder to said brother Francis
M., then to brother John M., paying to my wife during widowhood, 26s. 8d. Remainder of goods to brother
John, and sisters Dowesabell Clowdesley, Anne Maltbie, and Jennet Moore. Witnesses - John Place, John
Moor, Robert Brooke, Christopher Maltbie, Richard Hutton, Raufe Richardsone. -
