"HUTTONS AMBO, a parish in the wapentake of Bulmer; 2½ miles SW. of Malton. This parish contains High Hutton and Low Hutton (Hutton upon Derwent), hence the name of the parish. Here is a small church, dedicated to St. Margaret (see Churches for photograph); the living is a curacy, of which the Archbishop of York is the patron, and the Rev. J. J. Cleaver incumbent. Here is a small Methodist chapel. The principal inhabitant is Mr. Thomas Robinson. Pop. 445."
